Downlink Resource Allocation for Autonomous Infrastructure-based Multihop Cellular Networks

چکیده
Considering a multihop cellular system with one relay per sector, an effective modeling for the joint base-station/relay assignment, rate allocation, and routing scheme is proposed and formulated under a single problem for the downlink. This problem is then formulated as a multidimensional multichoice knapsack problem (MMKP) to maximize the total achieved throughput in the network. The well-known MMKP algorithm based on Lagrange multipliers is modified, which results in a near-optimal solution with a linear complexity. The notion of the infeasibility factor is also introduced to adjust the transmit power of base stations and relays adaptively. To reduce the complexity, and in order to analyze the underlying key factors in the system, the framework is restricted to a two-base-station two-relay system. In fact, the output of the proposed algorithm is the joint optimization of the routing path, and base-station selection to achieve the maximum total throughput in the system, which in conjunction with the proposed adaptive scheme leads to the implementation of the cell breathing via allocating the proper transmit power to the basestations and relays.

A Mobile Multihop Relay Dynamic TDD Scheme for Cellular Networks
In this paper, we present an analytical framework for the evaluation of the uplink performance of multihop cellular networks based on dynamic time division duplex (TDD). New wireless broadband protocols, such as WiMAX, WiBro, and 3G-LTE apply TDD, and mobile communication protocols under standardization (e.g., IEEE802.16j) are investigating mobile multihop relay (MMR) as a future technology. In...

Decoupling the uplink and downlink user association improves the throughput of heterogeneous networks (HetNets) and balances the traffic load of macro- and small- base stations. Recently, fiber-wireless HetNets (FiWi-HetNets) have been considered as viable solutions for access networks. To improve the accuracy of user association and resource allocation algorithms in FiWi-HetNets, the capacity ...
متن کاملResource Allocation Schemes in Evaluating the Infrastructure Cost of a Wireless Multihop Architecture with Fixed Relays
The downlink of a hybrid system with regenerative relaying (cellular extended by means of fixed wireless router) is studied in terms infrastructure costs. Using a static linear cost model, the feasibility of the hybrid system is analyzed by comparing the infrastructure cost of providing a predefined service level with a traditional single hop system and with a hybrid system, respectively. The a...
